These terms govern your use of the Bronte Menswear website and any order you place through it. They are written to be read, so please read them.
Bronte Menswear ("Bronte", "we", "us") is a menswear and tailoring shop at 2310 Palisades Center Drive, West Nyack, NY 10994, United States, selling in the shop and online. You can reach us on (845) 358-8881. When we say "you", we mean the person using the site or placing an order.
You may browse and design a suit without an account. You need one to save measurements, save designs, place an order, or use Atelier Online.
Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and you should tell us at once if you think someone else has access to it. We may suspend an account we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently or to abuse the site.
You must be at least 18 to place an order.
Everything we make is cut from the measurements in your Fit Profile at the moment you order. That version of your measurements is frozen against the order, so later edits never disturb something already in production.
You are responsible for the measurements you give us, and we are responsible for what we do with them. Every profile is reviewed by a tailor before we cut, and we will contact you if something looks wrong. If a measurement turns out to be inaccurate, the Bronte Fit Guarantee is the remedy: we alter or remake your first suit free within 90 days.
An order is placed when your payment is confirmed, and confirmed by us when you receive the order confirmation email. Until then, nothing is reserved and nothing is cut.
Prices are shown in the currency you have selected, converted from our US dollar prices at the rates published on the site. The currency you are charged in is shown on the payment step before you pay. Prices for GBP and EUR are shown including tax; prices in other currencies exclude any tax or duty payable in your country.
We reserve the right to correct a price that is obviously wrong. If we do, we will tell you before making anything, and you may cancel for a full refund.
Because each garment is cut for one person, cloth is committed to your order early.
Your order page shows which stage you are at, with the date each stage was reached. Write to us and we will tell you where you stand.
If you need to change a detail — a lining, a monogram, a button — ask before the cutting stage and we will do it if we can.
We make in three to four weeks, plus shipping. That is our normal pace, not a contractual deadline: cloth is occasionally delayed, and a suit that is not right does not leave the workshop.
If your order will be materially late we will tell you, with a new date, and you may cancel for a full refund if the delay is more than 14 days beyond the estimate we gave you.
Risk passes to you on delivery. Title passes when we have been paid in full.
Made-to-order garments are covered by the Bronte Fit Guarantee rather than by a change-of-mind return. Accessories may be returned unworn within 30 days. Our Returns policy sets out both in full, and it forms part of these terms.
Nothing here affects your statutory rights, including any right you have under consumer law where you live.
We will alter garments made by anyone, subject to a tailor's judgment about whether the alteration can be done well. Some cannot: there may not be enough cloth in a seam, or the construction may not allow it. Where that is the case we will tell you, and we will refund the alteration in full rather than do work we are not happy with.
We take reasonable care of every garment sent to us, and we insure inbound and outbound shipping to the value you declare.
The words, artwork, drawings, software and design on this site belong to us. You may not copy or reuse them commercially without our permission. You may of course share a link to a design you have made.
We work to keep the site available and accurate, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Beyond that, our liability in connection with an order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — for example, the cost of an event you attended without the suit.
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it, and the date at the top tells you when this version took effect.
These terms are governed by the law of the State of New York, and the courts of the State of New York have jurisdiction, without affecting any protection you have under the law of the place where you live.
Write to us through the contact form on our Help page and we will answer within two working days. By post: Bronte Menswear, 2310 Palisades Center Drive, West Nyack, NY 10994. By telephone: (845) 358-8881.
